Pain
& Injury
Advanced imaging & precision guided treatment for back pain, spine injury, joint disease,
tendon injury & post-surgical including specialist CT guided spinal injections where appropriate.
Our Approach
Pain is not the diagnosis. It is the signal.
At MBR Health, pain and injury care begins with identifying the correct structural, inflammatory or mechanical driver behind the symptom. Treatment is not selected first — the correct medical pathway involves diagnosis first, using high-fidelity imaging, specialist interpretation and precision image-guided precision.
Precision Treatment
Treatment begins with knowing the source.
Persistent pain is often complex. Symptoms may arise from joints, discs, nerves, tendons, ligaments, muscles, previous surgery or overlapping pain generators. Our pain & injury pathway is designed to define the clinical question, identify the source and guide treatment with anatomical precision.

Technology
The target matters.
In pain medicine, millimetres matter. A treatment placed near the problem is not the same as a treatment placed at the source. Our model combines imaging-led diagnosis with precision-guided intervention, so treatment is directed to the structure most likely to be driving the pain.
SPECTRAL CT CHEST Advanced Imaging
Treatment without diagnosis is guesswork.
Persistent pain is rarely solved by treating the symptom alone. The same pain pattern can come from different structures — and different structures require different treatments. Advanced imaging provides the anatomical clarity needed to choose the right pathway.

Common Questions from patients
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best scan for back pain?
The best scan for back pain depends on what we’re trying to find. A 3T MRI gives detailed information about discs, nerves and soft tissues. CT, or Spectral CT, is more useful when we need a closer look at the bones, joints or changes from injury or surgery.
What is the best scan for nerve pain?
The best scan depends on the clinical question. NerveVIEW MRI and 3T MRI are often the most useful tools for nerve pain, radiculopathy, focal neuritis and structural correlation of neuropathic symptoms. Ultrasound can help in selected superficial nerve problems.
Can MRI detect trigeminal neuralgia?
MRI may help assess causes of trigeminal neuralgia or trigeminal neuropathy, including vascular contact, nerve compression, inflammation, tumour, demyelination or post-surgical change. A routine brain MRI may not always be enough. In many cases, dedicated high-resolution imaging through the trigeminal nerve, skull base and posterior fossa is needed to properly assess the nerve pathway.
Can MRI show osteoarthritis?
Yes. MRI can show cartilage loss, subchondral bone change, synovitis, marrow oedema, tendon pathology and other joint findings relevant to osteoarthritis and persistent joint pain.
Can you heal an ACL rupture or tear with PRP?
Yes, while these treatments are still evolving, there are now several publications demonstrating full non-surgical healing of ACL using PRP. Please refer to our Publication page to read more.
