Brain Assessments We Offer
3T Brain MRI
A 3T brain MRI provides high-resolution structural imaging of the brain without ionising radiation.
It may help assess brain volume, regional atrophy, vascular injury, white matter change, previous silent infarcts, mass lesions, inflammatory patterns and other structural findings relevant to neurological health.
Best for:
Structural brain assessment, cognitive symptoms, neurological symptoms, baseline brain health and longitudinal comparison.
Volumetric Brain MRI
Volumetric brain MRI uses quantitative analysis to measure selected brain structures and compare them with age-adjusted reference ranges.
This may include hippocampal volume, cortical grey matter, ventricular size and regional asymmetry. These measurements can help establish a baseline and monitor change over time.
Volumetric analysis is not a standalone diagnosis. It must be interpreted with symptoms, clinical history, risk factors and specialist review.
Best for:
Cognitive longevity, memory concerns, baseline measurement, brain ageing assessment and longitudinal monitoring.
Dementia & Alzheimer’s Risk Assessment
Brain MRI and volumetric analysis can identify structural patterns that may be associated with neurodegenerative conditions, including hippocampal or medial temporal volume loss.
This can support assessment of cognitive risk, but it does not diagnose Alzheimer’s disease by itself and does not replace specialist neurological assessment, cognitive testing, amyloid PET, tau PET or biomarker pathways where clinically indicated.
Best for:
Memory concerns, cognitive decline, family history of dementia, baseline risk assessment and follow-up planning.
Brain Vascular Imaging
Brain vascular imaging may include MRI sequences and non-invasive angiographic assessment of selected blood vessels.
Depending on the protocol, this may help assess aneurysm, vascular narrowing, vascular malformation, previous silent infarcts, white matter disease and other findings relevant to stroke risk and brain resilience.
Best for:
Stroke risk assessment, aneurysm screening, vascular brain health, white matter disease and patients with vascular risk factors.
White Matter, Myelin
& Demyelination Assessment
Advanced MRI and quantitative tools may help assess white matter integrity, myelin-related tissue characteristics and demyelinating patterns.
This may be relevant in selected patients with suspected multiple sclerosis, neuroinflammatory disease, unexplained neurological symptoms or prior abnormal imaging.
Best for:
White matter disease, demyelination assessment, suspected MS pathways and neurological symptom investigation.
Longitudinal Brain Health Monitoring
Brain health is often most meaningful when measured over time.
A single MRI can identify visible abnormalities and establish a baseline. Repeat imaging, when clinically appropriate, can help detect progression, stability or change in brain volume, white matter disease, vascular findings or other structural markers.
