X-ray & Dental Imaging Facilities at MBR HealthX-ray imaging uses a small, controlled dose of ionising radiation to produce detailed images of bones, joints and certain soft tissue structures. It is one of the most commonly performed diagnostic imaging examinations and is used across a broad range of clinical applications including fracture assessment, chest and lung evaluation, spinal assessment and abdominal imaging. X-ray examinations are fast, non-invasive and widely accessible, providing important diagnostic information to guide clinical management.
X-ray at MBR Health is reported by Dr Zane Sherif and our specialist radiologists, ensuring every study is interpreted within the context of our broader imaging capability. Our facility uses advanced digital X-ray technology including bone suppression software — a specialised tool that digitally reduces the appearance of overlying rib structures, improving the detection of subtle lung and chest lesions that may otherwise be obscured. All X-ray studies are reported by a specialist radiologist and results are sent directly to your referring clinician.
Cone Beam CT (CBCT)
Cone beam CT provides high-resolution three-dimensional imaging of the teeth, jaws and facial skeleton. It is particularly valuable for implant planning, complex orthodontic assessment, root canal evaluation, temporomandibular joint assessment and oral and maxillofacial surgical planning. CBCT delivers significantly lower radiation than conventional CT while providing detailed three-dimensional anatomical information unavailable from standard dental X-ray or OPG.
Orthopantomogram (OPG)
An OPG is a panoramic X-ray of the teeth, jaws and surrounding structures, providing a broad overview of dental and skeletal anatomy in a single image. It is commonly used for dental assessment, orthodontic planning, wisdom tooth evaluation and jaw pathology. The examination is quick, non-invasive and requires no special preparation.

MBR Health children’s waiting area We understand that a trip to the radiology practice can feel daunting for young children and their families. Our X-ray & dental room is specially designed with children in mind, featuring colourful jungle-themed décor to help little ones feel calm and at ease from the moment they arrive.
Families are also welcome to enjoy our adjacent children’s waiting area, complete with sea-themed décor, a few toys, and a projector to watch Bluey or other children’s shows while they wait. Our team is experienced in working with children of all ages and takes care to make every visit as positive, calm and comfortable as possible.
Our clinical team, many of whom are mothers and fathers themselves, understand that managing little ones during a medical appointment is not always easy. Please let us know when you book if you are bringing children and our team will do everything they can to help make your visit as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Most X-ray examinations require no special preparation, and in many cases patients are welcome to attend on a “walk-in-basis”. Wear comfortable clothing without metal fasteners where possible and remove jewellery, piercings and metal objects before your examination. Depending on the area being examined, you may be asked to change into a gown. Our team will advise you on arrival.
X-ray examinations are fast, typically taking between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the area being imaged. Our radiographers will position you carefully to ensure the best possible image quality and minimise radiation exposure. For paediatric examinations, our team is experienced in working with children and will take care to make the experience as calm and quick as possible.
You can resume normal activities immediately after your examination. X-ray and dental imaging results are reported by a specialist radiologist and sent to your referring clinician. Results are typically available within 24 to 48 hours. Your report and images will also be accessible through the MBR Health patient portal.
